Un conejo, un perro y un gato en clase 🙂

As a cat lover, I love teaching with fluffy Rabito sitting on my desk and some weeks ago I realized I was not the only one!
Úrsula, Gianmarco and Sheyla, I am so pleased to see that you guys are having fun in class, introducing your pets to each other, having a laugh… and the most important thing is you are doing all that while learning! Thank you Ruby for creating such a nice atmosphere in class and thank you Gianmarco Liu for taking that screenshot that captured the Kodak moment 🙂
Learning with a pet can actually be surprisingly beneficial — and not just because they’re cute! 🐶🐱
Here are some reasons why having a pet around while learning can help:
🧠 1. Reduces Stress and Anxiety
- Being near your pet can lower stress hormones like cortisol.
- A calmer mind makes it easier to focus and retain information.
- Even short breaks to pet them can refresh your brain.
❤️ 2. Boosts Motivation
- Having your pet next to you makes your study space more enjoyable.
- It can turn a “boring” task into something cozier and more pleasant.
⏳ 3. Encourages Breaks (in a Good Way)
- Pets need attention, so they naturally remind you to take small breaks.
- These micro-breaks help prevent mental fatigue and improve productivity.
🗣 4. Perfect for Speaking Practice
- If you’re learning a language, you can “talk” to your pet without feeling self-conscious.
- Pets won’t judge your accent, grammar, or vocabulary — perfect for practicing freely.
😊 5. Improves Emotional Well-being
- The companionship of a pet increases feelings of happiness and belonging.
- When you feel good, your brain learns better.
Extra tip for language learners:
You can narrate what you’re doing to your pet (“I’m making coffee” / “Vamos a pasear” / “Let’s read a book”) — it’s an easy way to get daily speaking practice without pressure.
